Manchester City versus Tottenham, Sunday, February 14
Manchester City boss Manuel Pelligrini may have played down the importance of last Saturday’s Premier League match with Leicester, but a convincing 3-1 win at the Etihad Stadium moved the Foxes five points clear at the top of the table and shifted the emphasis onto the St. Valentine’s Day clash with Tottenham.
Pellegrini will certainly be hoping to avoid a repeat of the 4-1 thrashing that Spurs metered out to his side in the reverse fixture at White Hart Lane in September and can take comfort from the fact that, aside from Leicester, only Liverpool and West Ham have beaten the Sky Blues at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League this season.
That said, Spurs are on a run of 11 games unbeaten away from home in the Premier League and currently lie second in the table, five points behind the Foxes and one point ahead of the Sky Blues. The form of England striker Harry Kane and midfielder Dele Alli has made the difference for Mauricio Pochettino’s side in his recent weeks and could do so again at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Tottenham make no little appeal at the 13/5 generally available, but let’s try a sporting wager on both teams to score and Tottenham to win at 5/1 with Bet365.
